Security Tips

Preventing Auto Crime is often a matter of simple common sense!

Make your vehicle as unappealing a target as possible to decrease your risk of becoming a victim of auto crime.

  • Close your windows and lock your doors
  • Put your possessions out of sight BEFORE arriving at your destination and leave what you can at home or at the hotel
  • Take all your possessions with you on hikes
  • Keep your spare key with you in your wallet - not in your car
  • Invest in a good anti-theft device
  • Engrave your stereo and other on-board valuables with your driver's license number
  • Even loose change on your dash or something that appears to be "covered up" can encourage a break in
  • Be observant of your surroundings
If you see suspicious activity tell the Park Watch Patroller and/or call the Penticton RCMP
